Inside Sales Representative
At Hager, our Inside Sales Team plays a critical role in helping our customers and sales representatives win. We are a family-owned commercial door hardware manufacturer built on a simple mission: win by making door hardware easier for our customers. Our Inside Sales Representatives are trusted partners to outside sales teams and valued customers, providing accurate quotes, proactive follow-up, and consistent lead generation to help drive demand, strengthen relationships, and support long-term growth across assigned territories. This role supports outside sales representatives and customers throughout the sales and project lifecycle, blending technical quoting with project and account support and proactive lead generation. By supporting the sales pipeline and process, this role enables outside sales representatives to focus on high-impact proactive selling and long-term relationship building. Candidates with experience in Division 8 door hardware estimating, detailing, project coordination, or inside sales often transition successfully into this role.
- Complete accurate and timely quotes and competitor products cross-references for assigned territories.
- Convert competitive hardware sets and take offs to Hager products and solutions.
- Capture and document all required follow-up information.
- Maintain ownership of quote revisions and proactive follow-up.
- Generate a consistent volume of qualified leads within assigned territories.
- Research and identify project opportunities independently and collaboratively.
- Conduct outreach to grow specification writing opportunities, relationship development, and AIA meetings.
- Funnel identified opportunities directly to outside sales representatives.
- Act as an extension of the outside sales team.
- Participate in quarterly agency stakeholder reviews.
- Build trust through responsiveness, accuracy, and follow-through.
- Help reduce administrative burden on outside sales.
- Help resolve issues and ensure alignment with specifications and codes.
- Serve as a knowledgeable product and project resource.
Position Qualification Requirements
Education
High School diploma/GED.
Experience
Minimum of two years’ experience in inside sales, hardware estimating, detailing, or project coordination. Working knowledge of Division 8 commercial door hardware preferred. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Skills + Knowledge
Knowledge of general office practices and procedures. Proficient with computers and basic software packages such as Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and quoting tools (preferred). Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy. Self-motivated, collaborative team player with a strong desire to exceed goals.
Physical Activities + Demands
Normal office environment which requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and see. May involve the ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects of up to 15 to 20 pounds, infrequently.
